How Publishers (Like You) Use Gist

Every organization is a publisher, in the sense that we all put out content.

But I’m not talking about every business here.

This article is for the blogger, the authority site, the personal brand, the author and anyone else whose business is content.

 1 First, Get Your Email Marketing Going

That said, sending impersonal emails and messages could stifle that connection with your audience. To solve this complex problem, Gist has introduced 3-types of emails that can be sent to your audience.

  • Broadcast: Have something to say to everyone? Send a personal message to the entire list!
  • Drip Campaign: If you’re sending the same emails to most of the people who sign up to your list, you need a drip campaign that virtually “shows” everyone around. Include common advice and push traffic to your most valuable content.
  • Behavioral: This is where the personalization gets exciting! Mark certain behaviors of your list. Maybe someone signed up for your Facebook group, or downloaded a resource. Send those people a custom email — right when the action occurs!

Create email content based on what you want your users to know and how they’ll interact with your website. (Note: This gets really exciting once you see our automation tools in the next section.)

2 Next, Set Up Marketing Automations Using Workflows

4 Finally, Set Up Meetings

As a publisher, you likely have meetings with people.

  • Meetings with your students for one-on-one coaching
  • Interviews with guests for a video or podcast
  • Meetings with assistants, staff and others

Go to your profile and edit meeting settings. Create a different meeting for each instance you’ll need to speak with someone and get a specific link for those meetings.

Next, simply connect your Google Calendar and send the links to those you need to meet.
